Nestled in the rolling hills just outside of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, The Mountain View Cottage is our flagship Airbnb cabin rental — the property where it all began for us, and the one that holds the most space in our hearts. It's where we learned what it means to be hosts, where we made our first guests feel at home, and where we fell in love with the idea that a well-cared-for space can genuinely change the way someone experiences a trip.
My name is Sam, an Airbnb Superhost based in Maryland. We host vacation rental properties across Maryland and West Virginia, but this West Virginia cabin rental was our first — and it remains our most personal. Every detail has been chosen with intention, from the crisp white linens on the beds to the way the porch catches the last light of the evening. It is not just a rental to us. It is a place we are proud of, and one we are honored to share.

The Mountain View Cottage sits just minutes from Harpers Ferry, WV — one of the most scenic and historically rich corners of the mid-Atlantic. The Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers converge here, the Appalachian Trail runs right through town, and the Blue Ridge Mountains frame everything in a way that never gets old. Whether you're arriving from Washington, D.C. (just 67 miles away), Baltimore, or Philadelphia, the drive in feels like the trip is already beginning.
The surrounding area offers something for everyone: hiking and trail running on the Appalachian Trail, kayaking and tubing on the rivers, historic sites and local breweries in Harpers Ferry, charming restaurants and live events in nearby Charles Town and Shepherdstown, and easy day trips to Frederick, Maryland. It is the kind of location that makes a long weekend feel like a full vacation.
