Airbnb Host Emergency Kit: The Supplies That Save Every Last-Minute Turnover

Airbnb turnovers are those stretches between a guest checkout and the next check-in — washing, cleaning, replenishing, and resetting the space. On a normal day, it’s a rhythm. But when you have back-to-back checkouts and check-ins on the same day, that rhythm turns into a sprint. Every minute counts, and there’s no margin for error. When we first started hosting, we set up our space so we always had extras on hand. Dirty pillow cover during a tight turnover? Swap it out. Problem solved. But over time, we ran into situations that extras alone couldn’t fix — moments where we had a two-hour window to clean a three-bedroom house, or walked in to find the whole place needed a deep clean.

Stains happen. The problem is you don’t always have time to run a full wash cycle between guests. A good stain remover lets you treat the stain on the spot, buy yourself time, and do the deep wash after the guest checks out. It’s become a non-negotiable in our kit.

Artwork falls off the wall — it happens more than you’d think. Command strips let you get it back up in seconds without tools, nails, or a trip to the hardware store. We keep a stash at every property.

Super Glue

When a joint on a lightweight piece of furniture comes undone — like the elbow joint on a nightstand — super glue is the fastest fix. It’s not a permanent solution, but it holds long enough to get through a guest stay while you arrange a proper repair.

Drain Cleaner

Clogged sinks and slow drains come with the territory of hosting. Having drain cleaner on hand means you’re not scrambling to call a plumber or leaving a guest with a backed-up sink. We keep it stocked at all times.

Extra Shower Liner

We wash our shower liners with every guest stay, but sometimes one comes out torn or with a stain that can’t be treated quickly. Having a spare liner on hand means a fresh replacement in minutes — no delay, no problem.

Museum Putty

This one is underrated and I’ll stand by it. Museum putty acts as a bonding agent between lamps, decor, and the surfaces they sit on. If a guest accidentally knocks something over, the putty keeps it from toppling — and if it does come loose, it’s a two-second fix to reset it. High-Quality Air Freshener

I’m a big fan of air purifiers for day-to-day hosting, but when time is tight, a high-quality diffuser can quickly reset the ambiance of a space. Fabric Shaver

Fabric Glue Gun & Stitch Gun

The loops on duvets and duvet covers break more often than you’d expect. A fabric-safe glue gun fuses things back together in a fraction of the time it would take to sew them by hand.
